We now have a beta release – kloxong-0.1.2-beta . After testing the alpha version I am confident that we haven’t introduced any major bugs into Kloxo and that any of the problems we have with Koxong also exist in Kloxo-MR – this is particularly an issue with some of the third party packages like webmail as they are getting old.
I would like a few more people to test before we do a proper release. As before it should not be used in a live production environment and should not be used to upgrade a live kloxo install.
As before there are a few tests we would like you to try:
Install Kloxong on centos 6 or 7. Then test setting up client accounts with a domain, website and email. Test that you can send/receive emails, that httpd is running and that ftp works. Check that webmail and phpmyadmin apps launch and work.
Import a client from a Kloxo-MR installation and check that all the client’s settings have copied over cleanly.
Try installing Kloxong over a copy of Kloxo-MR . Don’t do this with a live site. Make clone of an existing Kloxo-MR installation then install Kloxong.
I don’t expect everyone to have access to internet facing servers so just do the best you can with the resources that you have. Personally I’ve been doing basic testing on virtualbox VM’s, then testing email, dns etc on live AWS instances.
If you find any problems, please report them at https://github.com/KloxoNGCommunity/kloxong/issues
You can also see some known issues here – many of which are inherited from previous Kloxo versions.
As always install instructions can be found at https://raw.githubusercontent.com/KloxoNGCommunity/kloxong/master/how-to-install.txt
